Dr. Huang is the CEO of MERIT and co-founded the company in 2012 with Dr. Christopher Murphy and Dr. Ronald Danis. Dr. Huang has 25+ years of experience in medical imaging, instrumentation, and clinical trial innovation. In addition to overseeing operations, he leads the development of MERIT’s software platform, EXCELSIOR^TM, which serves as the foundation for the company’s service offerings in clinical endpoint assessment.

Prior to co-founding MERIT, Dr. Huang was VP of Engineering at Topcon Medical Systems and a Senior Scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

Steve Yang is the co-founder and CEO of Mianus Capital, a boutique investment firm founded in 2015, which focuses on investments in technology-driven life science companies in the lower middle market across North America and Asia. Mr. Yang has 20+ years of experience in finance, technology, and management consulting. He previously held various management positions in banking and investment firms, including Nomura, Royal Bank of Scotland, and Black River Asset Management. He started his management career at McKinsey & Company.

Mr. Yang earned an MBA with high distinction from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He also received a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.
