MERIT Employee Spotlight is a series featuring team members introducing themselves, outlining their role at MERIT, and explaining why they chose to work in the clinical trials industry.
What is your role at MERIT?
My role at MERIT is as an Imaging Quality Control Specialist II for the Oncology team. I support the Oncology team in all things imaging-related. I am a certified CT/MRI Technologist and have over a decade of experience in Radiology. I love to share my knowledge base with my team and help out in any way I can.
What do you like about working at MERIT?
I love my team; they are super supportive. Working remotely, I wasn’t sure how I would be able to connect with my coworkers and they have made that abundantly easy! Everyone is so helpful and approachable.
Why did you get into clinical research?
I came from a patient-facing role, so this position is completely different for me. I love it! I have been on the other side of research at an imaging site, so now I get to see both sides! I am so honored to be a part of the oncology research community. Cancer hits close to home and to be a small part of the research is so fulfilling.
What do you do in your free time?
I have a young family with a toddler and an infant, so we are always busy. My family loves to do all things outside. We love to go to the lake, the pool, camping, or just play outside. We have two Golden Retrievers who are always with us. I was born and raised in Nebraska and love all Husker athletics. My husband and I love to travel, especially anywhere with a beach or mountains.
