MERIT Employee Spotlight:
Amanda Weber

Amanda Weber
Partnerships Manager

MERIT Employee Spotlight is a series featuring team members introducing themselves, outlining their role at MERIT, and explaining why they chose to work in the clinical trials industry.

What do you do at MERIT?

In my role as Partnerships Manager, I serve as a primary point of contact for many of our valued CRO partners and Sponsors. My responsibilities span from initial correspondence to monthly or quarterly client touchpoints. I am dedicated to providing timely communication and support to both current and prospective clients throughout the entire pre-award process.

What do you like about working here?

I enjoy the continual learning aspect of my career and the support I receive in establishing long-standing relationships. Representing MERIT at industry conferences is particularly gratifying for me. Connections are invaluable in this business. Forming and nurturing relationships with industry colleagues is a rewarding component of my position at MERIT.

How do you see your position fitting into the company as a whole?

Effective partnership management and relationship development are integral to the success of MERIT, as with any organization. The activities and contributions of our team are complementary to that of the medical and scientific expertise MERIT provides. From initiating and facilitating introductory conversations to cultivating client relations and fostering seamless internal connections, we play a vital role in achieving the company’s collective initiatives.

Why did you get into clinical research?

This is a fascinating industry that can be challenging to break into. I consider myself fortunate to be among those who have recently joined the life sciences space. I’m grateful to MERIT’s leadership team for creating a position that aligns so well with my skill set. I find it rewarding to help our clients advance new drug treatments that improve patients’ quality of life.

What do you do in your free time?

I am a wife and mother of two. Our family enjoys going out to eat, traveling, watching movies, game nights, and summer bike rides. I listen to books on Audible and I’m addicted to Shark Tank and the Rebel Weight Loss & Lifestyle podcast. As a University of Iowa alum, attending Hawkeye football games is a top priority in the fall. I’m a passionate member of a fitness studio that offers isometric and HIIT workouts in infrared saunas. It’s my happy place!
