Project Manager I

MERIT Employee Spotlight is a series featuring team members introducing themselves, outlining their role at MERIT, and explaining why they chose to work in the clinical trials industry.

What is your role at MERIT?

As a Project Manager, I oversee ophthalmic and respiratory studies. I manage all study activities from study startup to closeout. I also assist the sites, clients, and reading centers in use of our EXCELSIOR platform and maintain the Master Project Files (MPF).

What do you like about working at MERIT?

We have a great team of experts with an array of backgrounds and clinical experience, which allows us to look at issues from different perspectives. The availability to have a flexible schedule is also a great perk!

Why did you get into clinical research?

I started as a Clinical Data Analyst for a CRO right out of college and immediately recognized that this was something I wanted to pursue long term. I grew up wanting to help others in some way and hoped to do so in a medical position. My role allows me to see how different tested devices and clinical drugs can help many people live better lives.

What do you do in your free time?

I’m married to my middle school sweetheart, Justin, and am a fur mom to three cats. When I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with my nieces and nephews or planning one of our many trips to Disney.
